Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability Retains Leaders in Safeguarding Gold Award

Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability retains Leaders in Safeguarding Gold Award

The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability (RHN) is delighted to have retained the Leaders in Safeguarding Gold Award for its ‘exemplary’ and ‘highly committed approach’ to safeguarding.

Leaders in Safeguarding assesses the effectiveness of an organisation’s safety arrangements in ensuring the welfare of children and, in the RHN’s case, vulnerable adults. The panel consists of expert professionals from health, education, social care and statutory inspection sectors. The Panel Director of Safeguarding said,

“Your safeguarding standards are amongst the highest we have ever seen.”

Completion of the audit requires multiple standards to be met, including effective safeguarding policies, procedures and systems, safer recruitment practices and highly effective supervision and support.

Following a very thorough review of our safeguarding practices, we are pleased to have successfully completed the Leaders in Safeguarding audit and once again been awarded with the Gold Award.

The final report noted that,

“RHN places an exceptional emphasis on safeguarding training and continuous professional development. The hospital exceeds national training requirements, demonstrating a proactive and highly committed approach to ensuring staff are well-equipped to safeguard vulnerable patients effectively… RHN’s efforts in safeguarding, patient engagement, and service development reflect its ongoing commitment to excellence in all areas of patient care and protection.

“Overall, RHN’s safeguarding and risk management practices are exemplary, driven by a dedicated team with strong leadership, comprehensive processes, and a commitment to continuous improvement.”

Thank you to the RHN’s Safeguarding Team and all staff who have contributed to this fantastic recognition award, demonstrating their commitment to keeping our patients and residents safe.
