This week we were delighted to welcome the marketing team for Consumer Healthcare at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), who took part in some corporate social responsibility by painting some patient bedrooms.

The team took to the task like pros, and left the rooms looking a lot fresher and brighter than they had been before.

GSK started their Orange Day corporate social responsibility initiative in 2006.  Orange Day allows GSK employees to take one day off to volunteer with a charity, either individually or with their team. Orange Day is on company time, and employees can choose any day to volunteer.

Milly Perry from GlaxoSmithKline  said,

“It was an absolute pleasure to offer the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability a helping hand today as part of GSK’s Orange Day. The hospital staff were all very friendly and welcoming.

It was great to see and hear about all of the fantastic work that they do. What was nice was that the hospital didn’t even feel like a hospital; it is a beautiful building and it has a very light and airy vibe!

“We only managed to decorate four out of nine rooms that needed painting. We urge more companies to complete their charity day of service at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability.”
